About English Reading

I read a lot from 2016-2021. Then I stopped reading in 2023.

• I started reading during the final year of my primary school when I transferred to SMIC International school, that was the best year in my life so far. I literally had a second childhood through reading. See this post in 2018: My Journey in Reading
• I visited Shanghai foreign language bookstore a lot, knowing each section of each floor. I frequently went on Goodreads and FantasticFiction. When I traveled to America or UK, Barnes & Nobles and Waterstones and other bookstores were my favorite spots. But there was nobody to discuss English books with.
• I read far more English than Chinese. I use English primarily for my blogs and journals (over 200k words now) I use English as the primary language and think in English since 2022, while living in China.
• It roughly started with Junie B (Autumn) -> Ready Freddy -> Magic Tree House (Winter, Spring) -> BSC/2 Narnia (Spring) -> A to Z/Nancy Drew/Martin(other novels) (Summer), then I entered middle school. I read 366 books total in 2016, then Barbara Park(other novels) -> Harry Potter -> Percy Jackson -> Other Fantasies like Twilight, Divergent, Hunger Games in 2017, then Judy Blume in 2018
