My Language Learning Journey

Deep-end Immersion

I have a rare gift for language learning through deep-end immersion. This method likely won't work for others.

  • Immersion is enjoyable. Even if I understood nothing initially, every hour of native content is effortless fun, much like gaming or scrolling TikTok for others, no need for willpower or any mental resistance.
  • I spent thousands of hours on YouTube content for natives from zero. The only thing I drilled was Cyrillic typing. I had to frequently tell myself to stop this obsession.
  • Comprehension naturally grew from 20% to 95%+. I began thinking in the language and held fluent hour-long conversations. I created a dual subtitle userscript as an accelerant.
  • No traditional methods: no classes, textbooks, grammar study, or apps. Traditional methods (rote memorization, grammar drills, apps) would make me struggle.

My diplomatic answer is:

"I cannot ignore such an important country (list something beautiful or deep). Your culture deserves my respect and dedication."

Я собираюсь перестать отслеживать видео, которые я просмотрел. Затем я перестал пользоваться двойные субтитры в 2025.6, потому что больше не завишу от него, я могу понять 80-90%.
