Sunflower park (花世界) is a European-style park located on Jinzhai Rd (so it's the same road as USTC east campus, just 20 km south) and next to Anhui Medical University. It was one of the few "beautiful" places in the ugly Hefei.

The problem is there are simply nobody here enjoying the park. I went here 3 times already. I invited 9 people and nobody came. Inside the park it was mostly older people or children, sometimes there are young couples but they are mostly concentrated at the entrance of the park. Such is the sad situation!

Enjoy the spring with me 🌹 There aren't a lot of people, and in May there are many beautiful flowers. Go in and you see so many flowers and the beautiful lake.

Walk to the south and over the lake there is a windmill on a hill. It is just so beautiful! The small blue boats aligned neatly, the pavilion behind that, and the windmill faraway there, with a gleam of yellow and red in the sky. But my photo unfortunately got a security camera in it, a constant reminder that this is a surveillance state.

On the east side there is a temple and a lot of crops. Just classic.

You can ride a horse and shoot an arrow here.

They had a separate flower garden inside the park.

You can rent a drone. I bought my DJI drone after renting one here.

There is a ferris wheel, costing 50 RMB. It is the tallest wheel in Anhui. The glass is a bit blurry but overall it's a fantastic experience.

I had a whole box to myself because no friends are coming.

By the way, since there aren't shared bikes in the rural part, it is quite difficult to get there without a taxi. The first time I went there I walked for like 5 km just to arrive there.

If you are to ever catch a sunset here over the ferris wheel, it is so romantic.
