Actually USTC is beautiful if you are not just too lonely to enjoy it.
We have 4 campuses: High-tech, main campus, a high school, and an island. The main campus can be divided into east campus, west campus, mid campus, and north campus. I live right now in high-tech.
High-tech Campus
The hallmark of the high-tech campus is the library. You can frequently see the moon above the library.

You can see our library from the top of Dashu Mountain if you zoom in 15-25x

IAT is an open campus just north of our campus. But again, there is nobody there, nothing to see there.

This is the view from my dorm. On the left side of the campus I think is an Iflytek campus? I don't know, I don't care.

Graduation party

Не встану, милий, гуляй з другою...
Не встану, милий, гуляй з другою,
Бо моє серце вже під земльою.
(Сонце низенько, Українська народна пісня)
If you can't read Ukrainian:
I won't get up, my dear, go for a walk with the other...
I won't get up, my dear, go for a walk with the other,
Because my heart is already underground.
(The Sun is Low, Ukrainian Folk Song)
Island
The island used to be open to the public, then it became heavily guarded, just like most of the Chinese society these days. You have to register to visit the museum just to visit the fucking island. But it seems like few people are interested in the island anyway except some nerds working there. The island itself, however, is very green and beautiful.

There is a museum called Hefei Science and Technology museum, and I do not care about the museum. However, there are many Soviet books inside the museum. It is the first time I discovered Russian books here.

Пушкин/Писатели народов СССР

Ленин

История народного хозяйства СССР

Курс высшей математики (смирнов)

If I have a choice I would've probably attended MGU. I want to have a lot of those yellow, old books if I can!
Honestly, I think that's it for now.
The defining experience of USTC for me was either endless loneliness surrounded by unchill people, or endless useless bureaucracy wrapped in a fake ideology, with a complete disregard for mental health and actual learning. People say how difficult the job market is, but nearly all of Chinese tech giants are still coming to our campuses multiple times, and it only depends on whether you want to work there. You can easily be a Xuandiao or go to the military if you want, which almost everyone ignores. But these aren't the problems anyway. Even if you manage to get a diploma, it's just a pyrrhic victory followed by a wall of nihilism and lost youth.
