The subway station near Chaohu is the "The Yangtze crossing Campaign Memorial". The aesthetic is highly Soviet, very much like the "Park Pobedy" in many Soviet cities.

Walk a little further and we arrive at Chaohu

There is a breakwater parellel to the shoreline, but you can't get on it

Further along the shoreline the space becomes very empty. There are occasionally some couples shooting photos there.

And then the setting sun sets the sky in a mixture of colors, red, deep blue, white.

It's actually very difficult to go to the Chaohu park from here because it's separated by a highway, and there are no lanes for bikes or walking. When I went to the Chaohu park before, it was by taxi, but then I haven't been to the park for quite a while. Here is how the park looks like from far away.

If you turn south from the battle memorial it is FangXing Lake.

There are less people here but honest there is nothing to do here but to walk around the lake.

If you go to the Binhu District, actually it's pretty bad there. The place is filled with dense high-rises and a lot of it looks very ugly and dirty to me.

The Yungu tech park look somewhat better as it's cleaner but it's still highly utilitarian.

Then there is the "Capital Outlets" shopping center for clothes to the east of Binhu district near Chaohu. I didn't buy anything and I don't know any brands here.
